Eligibility

To qualify, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a high school senior and plan to enroll as an incoming freshman at EMU for Fall 2026.

  • Have either:

    • A high school GPA of 3.85 or higher (on EMU-scale) OR

    • A GPA between 3.50-3.84 AND a composite ACT of 25 OR a SAT (Critical Reading + Math) score of 1200.

  • Submit an admission application to EMU and all required official transcripts and test scores by the stated scholarship deadline.

  • Attend one of the virtual information sessions to learn how to build a strong application.

Application Process

  1. First, apply for admission to EMU as a first-year student for Fall 2026. Ensure you meet the submission deadline for transcripts and test scores.

  2. Once admitted (or along with the admission application), complete the Presidential Scholarship Application via the EMU student portal.

  3. Attend one of the virtual information sessions to prepare your application strategy, ask questions, and connect with staff & current scholars.

  4. Shortlisted candidates will be notified by January 16, 2026; in-person interviews will take place on February 7, 2026.
