Overview of the Accelerator Fellowship Programme
The AFP at Oxford’s Institute for Ethics in AI was launched to confront the challenges posed by rapid advances in AI. Its mission is to bring together experts from different sectors — and build a global ethics-in-AI hub.
Through AFP, fellows gain access to Oxford’s intellectual community, seminars, policy dialogues, and rich networks — enabling their research and advocacy to reach global audiences.

Eligibility for AFP
To apply for the AFP Fellowship, you must meet the following criteria:

Hold at least a Master’s degree, or have equivalent professional standing.

Be a practicing professional or academic — affiliated with a university, industry, or otherwise professionally engaged with AI-related work.

Your proposed project should align with one of the AFP’s thematic tracks and demonstrate potential for real-world impact.

Proficiency in English (as the programme is delivered in English).
The programme is open to applicants worldwide.

Application Process

Complete the online application form via the AFP page.

Prepare a single PDF combining the following documents:

A motivation letter.

A copy of a valid passport (for visa assessment if a remote or in-person stay requires travel).
