Gilman Scholarship: A Guide to Studying Abroad for Free
Since its inception in 2001, the Gilman Scholarship Program has awarded over 44,000 scholarships for study abroad and internships around the world. It provides up to $5,000 in grant funding per student to apply toward program costs abroad (with the possibility of additional funds for critical language study). By targeting students who receive federal Pell Grants, the Gilman Scholarship focuses on those with financial need and aims to diversify the participants of study abroad.
